Educating Ourselves

The Education Services Department provides the Wesley Medical Center hospital employees, medical staff and the greater Hattiesburg region with advanced training on health topics. The department serves as a resource to each department within the hospital, assisting with department specific educational needs. We also coordinate weekly continuing medical education activities for the medical staff. Plus, organize special training events including classes in CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), ACLS (advanced cardiovascular life support), PALS (pediatric advanced life support), Moderate Sedation and NRP (neonatal resuscitation program). First Aid, CPR and various health classes are also available to businesses, schools and other organizations in our community.

They can be scheduled by contacting our Community Educator. The Education Services Department is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Nurses Foundation, Inc., an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Wesley Medical Center is also approved by the Mississippi State Medical Association Council on Medical Education as a provider of Continuing Medical Education for hours in Category I of the Physician's Recognition award of the American Medical Association. The Wesley Medical Center's Education Department is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office is conveniently located in the Institute for Wellness and Sports Medicine on the west side of the hospital campus.
