Hattiesburg, MS (Sept. 28, 2010) – The American Cancer Society has awarded the annual Patient Support Award to Wesley Medical Center Community Educator Nita Williamson for her contributions to breast cancer awareness and the Look Good…Feel Better program.

"I am both honored and humbled to be recognized for simply doing work about which I have great passion and love," says Williamson.

The ACS designates this annual award to one community leader who demonstrates extraordinary care and compassion in the development and implementation of these awareness and support programs.

Williamson serves as community health educator for Wesley Medical Center and works closely with the ACS while also serving on Hattiesburg’s Breast Cancer Awareness Team.

"I’m grateful to have received this recognition. I feel privileged to work along side such honorable people at the ACS whose goal it is to diminish suffering, eliminate cancer and save lives," Williamson says.
