A Choice in Emergency Care

Standing Up for Our Community's Choice in Emergency Care

Wesley Medical Center firmly believes that local residents should have the right to choose where they receive medical care, especially in the stress of an emergency. Unfortunately, that hasn’t always been the case in our community.

Numerous local residents have come forward to tell heartbreaking stories of how AAA Ambulance ignored or denied their requests to be transported to Wesley Medical Center. Instead, patients say they were taken against their will to Forrest General Hospital.

Now, Wesley Medical Center is standing up for local residents who deserve a choice in their healthcare by filing a lawsuit seeking to halt practices that Wesley asserts are dishonest and illegal. Litigation is a last resort and was only considered after exhaustive efforts to seek a reasonable solution through dialogue and problem solving.

We invite anyone who has been denied their choice of Wesley Medical Center for emergency care to tell their story. If you know about a time when this has happened, we want to hear about your experience. Please call 601-296-2095 to tell us your story. We also welcome your comments and questions.
