Getting Started

The initial step in your journey toward bariatric surgery is to attend one of our bariatric information sessions. This is a one and a half hour session hosted by one of the bariatric surgeons. Typically there are two sessions offered each month. These are open to the public, but reservations are required. The information session is free. 

The education sessions are held at Southern Surgery and Urology Center at 139 Fairfield Drive, Hattiesburg, MS 39402, which is located behind Rainforest Car Wash on Highway 98. Their offices may be reached by calling 601-450-2401. Topics covered in the sessions are:

• Risks and benefits
• Lifestyle changes
• Support group
• Lifetime commitment for follow-up care
